We are an official provider of Osteopathy and Sports Massage services to Nottinghamshire Police Federation.
Injured officers (serving or retired) who are signed up for the Group Insurance Scheme will be eligible for 4 treatments in the first instance. Cover is then reviewed on a case by case basis.
What we treat
We treat back pain and injuries anywhere in the body that may have been caused at work or may be affecting your ability to function at work or the quality of your retirement.
How we work
Many functions within police work can put unique demands on an officer’s body. This can cause unusual and sometimes repetitive loading that can contribute to injury. We use clinically proven, hands-on, manual therapy, osteopathy and sports massage techniques to ensure a swift and safe recovery. We couple these techniques with specific individualised strengthening and stretching programmes to prevent or reduce the chance of re-injury.
The key to successful treatment is a thorough and complete diagnosis which identifies why the injury occurred in the first place. At LMC we are highly skilled in biomechanical movement analysis and use this knowledge to inform our treatment and advice to reflect the stresses and strains of police work.
Your treatment may include:
- Muscle and myofascial deep tissue massage and release techniques
- Spinal joint mobilisation and manipulation
- Peripheral joint mobilisation
- Stretch and Strengthening exercise prescription
- Acupuncture/dry needling
- Postural re-education
Our aim is always to get you back to fully functional health, fitter and stronger than you were pre-injury.
